Our multi-day horse riding experiences invite you to slow down, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the rhythm of the land and sea. We ride along quiet beaches, through pine forests, across vast dunes and along the stunning Aveiro Lagoon, all while giving space for deep relaxation and personal connection — with the horses, with nature, and with yourself.
Each ride is designed with care, combining scenic routes with moments of rest and nourishment. We offer delicious vegetarian meals and unique, comfortable accommodations that allow you to fully unplug — whether you’re staying in our off-grid hideaway at Bonanza the land or a charming countryside cottage.
4-Day Nature Discovery: Riding Through the BioRia Reserve
Our 4-day riding experience takes you into the BioRia nature reserve, a hidden gem of northern Portugal. This rich wetland area is home to an abundance of birdlife and water, offering a completely different rhythm and landscape to explore on horseback.
Each day brings peaceful trails and quiet moments, riding alongside canals, across wooden bridges, and through lush greenery. The pace is gentle, the air fresh, and the scenery constantly shifting.
At night, you’ll rest in a beautiful cottage farmhouse, full of charm and surrounded by nature. With delicious vegetarian meals and intimate group sizes, this short escape is perfect for anyone looking to reconnect with themselves, the horses, and the wild world around them.
Itinerary:
Day 1
Meet your horse, saddle up and enjoy a ride through the forest, along the beach and the northern part of the Aveiro Lagoon. Get into the rhythm of your horses footsteps while you get deeper into the nature reserve of the BioRia.
We enjoy a picnic along the way where the horses can have a rest as well.
Later in the day we arrive at our farm where we leave the horses free to forage and we enjoy a well deserved dinner with an outdoor fire and a view of the horses peacefully grazing.
Time in the saddle: 6 hours
Day 2
Today we get the good day to explore all sorts of trails in the BioRia nature reserve. Spot different sorts of birds like the buzzard, flamingos, herons and maybe you spot a kingfisher. Here you can find all types of birds you can see in this region. Lunch picnic along the trail.
Dinner at the farm.
Time in the saddle: 4-5 hours
Day 3
Today is a slow day, we ride along some other trails along the BioRia and both ourselves and the horses have plenty of time to rest before we head back on a long journey on the last day.

Day 4
Today we will go on our way back through beautiful trails along the Aveiro Lagoon. We will end our ride with a ride through the forest until we get back to Bonanza the land.

4-day Coastal Escape: Beach, Full Moon ride & Sunsets
This immersive horse riding retreat is a magical experience along the coast. One of the highlights is our full moon ride, when the world feels hushed and silver-lit, and the connection with your horse deepens. We also ride out at sunset, taking in the golden light as it dances on the ocean waves.
You’ll enjoy plenty of time on the wide, empty beaches, where the only sound is the waves and hoofbeats.
Between the rides, there’s enough time to relax — in a hammock, by the fire, or simply walking the land. All meals are lovingly prepared and 100% vegetarian. You’ll stay in our off-the-grid accommodation, surrounded by nature and simplicity, offering a deep sense of peace and grounding. If you prefer a different style of accommodation than our off-the-grid, back-to-basics stay, we’re happy to help you find the perfect place nearby that matches your comfort and style.
This 4 day ride includes 2 horse therapy sessions to deepen your experience with these amazing animals. In a calm and natural setting, the horses help you find balance, presence, and inner clarity. A warm and grounding experience that enriches your time with us and make these days even more meaningful.
You are more than welcome to treat yourself to a relaxing massage to fully unwind (not included in the price).
Itinerary:
Day 1
Meet the horses and go for a 2 hour sunset ride through the forest and on the beach. After enjoy a wonderful meal together.
Day 2
3-hour ride in the morning.
After lunch there is time for a horse therapy session.
We enjoy a beautiful early dinner together before we head out for a full moon ride!
Day 3
3 hour ride to different dune, beach and forest landscapes.
We have a picnic lunch where the horses can roam free whilst we enjoy the view with some nice rest!
After lunch there will be a horse therapy session and we ride back in the late afternoon.
We dinner out in the nearest fisherman’s town.
Day 4
A last 2-hour ride where the winds takes us. After lunch there will be the last horse therapy sessions.
We finish these 4 days with a nice tea and a snack and say bye until we meet again!

”Me and my friend did a 3-day stay and ride with Carine at Bonanza the Land. We loved it from the beginning until the end! The warm welcome, the simple but comfortable cabin, the lovely dogs, beautiful horses and relaxed atmosphere. We did long rides in the forest and on the beach, we got a wonderful massage outside the yurt between the Bonanza cats and birds singing.
